From Monday (07/05) holders of problematic loans will be fully exposed and at the mercy of their creditors, namely the banks.
Lawyer Antonis Dimitriou (Dimitriou&Dimitriou LLC), speaking on the television show “Echis Meson” (TvOne), analyzed the provisions of the bill passed by Parliament in 2015 and sounded the alarm, explaining that any protection that existed for debtors ceases to apply as of next week.
Among other things, Mr. Dimitriou said: “The guarantor, who has mortgaged either his first residence or any residence, is not protected. Neither by one law nor by the other. Unless the decree is issued that has to do with the non-consensual personal repayment plan, which I repeat has a duration of three years and expires on May 7.”
