Public Trials should not be held before summoned by Court
Antonis Dimitriou: “People should not be slandered before they are tried by a competent court”
Antonis Dimitriou, the lawyer of Deputy Chief of Police Andreas Kyriakou, called for the “cannibalism” against him to stop.

Commenting on the events on the noon broadcast of RIK on Friday 5/5, the lawyer of the Deputy Chief of Police, Antonis Dimitriou, stated that “each of us is innocent until convicted by a competent court.”
The Deputy Leader’s lawyer stated that public trials should not be held against a person before he has even been summoned to appear before the court.
Andreas Kyriakou’s lawyer said that people’s names should not be slandered before they are even tried, while emphasizing that the Deputy Leader is innocent “until the court decides, and not someone else.”
“The only thing I have to say that surprises me is that four people were executed in the middle of the square and the only one to blame is the deputy chief of police because a document was found in the hands of a journalist ,” Mr. Dimitriou said characteristically.
Regarding the Attorney General’s decision, Mr. Dimitriou said that it is respected and that they will face justice, as they have confidence in it. “Whatever is decided, we will respect it,” said Mr. Kyriakou’s legal representative.
Mr. Demetriou confirmed that the Deputy Chief of Police was charged in writing, but this does not mean anything. “He must receive an indictment in order to appear in court,” said the Deputy Chief’s legal representative, while when asked to answer whether there was a possibility that the case would not proceed to court, Mr. Kyriakos’ lawyer stated that “it depends on the Attorney General.”
